Our Streamlined Mulch Division
The occasional application of mulch to your landscape keeps your lawn looking nice and healthy. Mulch trims out the areas around trees and other plants to give your yard sharper definition. It inhibits weed growth and increases the fertility of the soil, so your whole yard looks better.
Mulches for Every Situation
Choose from a variety of fresh mulches to be installed in your landscape.
Unique Playscape Fiber
By using IPEMA-certified fiber to meet the safety regulations, we try to help make your playscape a safer place to play.
Lasting Impressions
Install a fresh layer of mulch and let your landscape shine with a new look.
Creating a Weed Barrier
Using mulch creates a natural weed barrier, to help cut down that arduous task of weeding.
Helping Water Retention
The proper amount of mulch can help plants retain water in those hot summer months.
Helping You Get the Right Amount of Mulch
Our staff will plan and measure your mulch job, resulting in the use of less mulch and a savings of time and money for you.
Year after year, we ready ourselves to confront the dreaded, time-consuming task of MULCHING. At General Landscaping Mulch Division, we want to remove the painful thought of your mulching project. By replacing the wheelbarrow with our bark blower system, we can streamline the installation of all your mulch and Playscape fiber, which saves you, the consumer labor costs and precious time.
Our bark blower system allows us to access mature planting beds, as well as tight, or remote areas of your yard in a clean and safe manner, without damage to your flowers, shrubs, or any sensitive items in your landscape. With a well-trained staff, we are able to service residential, commercial and municipal properties.

How to Measure for Mulch
- A cubic yard contains 27 cubic feet and covers 324 square feet to a depth of one inch
- Calculate your yard's square footage
- Divide that square footage by 324
- Multiply that by the depth in inches
- The result is the number of cubic yards you need
Terraseeding™
Terraseeding™ is a patented process that combines several cumbersome steps into one easy application of enriched soil and seed to grow a beautiful lawn. The Express Blower allows you to blow in topsoil mixes blended with seed to eliminate the tasks of hauling and wheel barrowing soil, leveling and raking, seeding by hand, fertilizing and topdressing over the seed. Just add water!
Benefits
- Seed is planted rather than exposed on the surface
- Germination is greatly increased because of the warmth and moisture surrounding the seed in the soil
- The "blown-in" application levels the rough grade of the subsoil with a smooth finished layer of well-draining soil
- Increases content of organic matter in the soil
- Improves turf rooting and durability
- Increases the water retention capacity of the soil
- Reduces soil compaction
- The process is producing very consistent results
Why Top-dress?
Topdressing is a proven practice often completed in conjunction with aeration and seeding in turf maintenance programs and renovations procedures. Topdressing adds organic soil amendments which improve the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of the soil. This enhances turf quality and vigor and improves its resistance to stress. Today, high-quality compost combined with the advanced Express Blower application system makes both residential and commercial turf maintenance virtually effortless and with far superior results.

Get Serious Erosion Control on Serious Slopes
A mixture of compost and seed was applied with the Express Blower to an eroding stream bank near a bike path. This is a Terraseeded™ EcoBlanket™. It immediately stabilized the slope and held it over the long-term with established vegetation.
The entire process took about one hour. The area was kept open to the public during germination, and even though it was disturbed by dogs and other animals, the seed sprouted into an effective erosion control layer.
Erosion Control Through Natural Means
We strive to use eco-friendly organic materials in our erosion control projects.
- Compost (various feedstock)
- Bark/wood mulches
- Ground/shredded yard trimmings
- Chipped/shredded wood
- Special erosion control blends
Benefits
- Reduces soil loss and movement
- Controls sediment
- Improves soil quality over time
- Improves plant growth
- Reduces weed establishment
- Conserves moisture
